Professional Background
Hwasu Lee has over 20 years of experience leading cross-border innovation and product commercialization in medtech, AI, and advanced robotics. He began his career at Samsung Electronics, where he managed global R&D portfolio strategy and later led Open Innovation at Samsung Research America and SAIT — building partnerships with Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, and IBM to connect frontier research with real-world applications.
He later joined Koh Young Technology as Director of Medical Business, leading the development and U.S. launch of an FDA-cleared neurosurgical robotic platform. Working closely with surgeons and hospitals, he helped shape a new standard for image-guided surgery and built a clinical and commercial foundation for global expansion.
Hwasu is currently engaged with Valley Innovation Partners, supporting its mission to help startups and corporations bridge advanced technology to market impact through innovation strategy, global partnerships, and commercialization execution.
He holds an MBA from the University of Washington and M.S./B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Seoul National University.
