Chang Hee Kim has built a diverse career in technology, strategic planning, and open innovation, working across leading global companies and startups.
He began his career as a software engineer at LS Electric in Korea before moving to Samsung Electronics, where he worked in corporate strategic planning and contributed to various new business initiatives. In 2011, he joined Samsung Research America as an expatriate, leading an open innovation team that connected Samsung with promising startups and academic institutions to explore emerging technologies and business opportunities.
In 2018, Chang Hee joined Hyundai CRADLE Silicon Valley as Deputy Head. There, he was responsible for operational management and oversaw strategic investments and open innovation initiatives, supporting Hyundai’s engagement with the global innovation ecosystem.
In 2023, he founded Novelty Acres LLC, a San Jose-based consulting firm specializing in open innovation and business development. Through Novelty Acres, he works with businesses to facilitate partnerships and foster collaboration.
Chang Hee holds a B.A. in Computer Science from New York University and an M.S. in Computer Science from Columbia University.
