Mitch (Jungmok) Bae is a technology strategist and digital health innovator with over 20 years of experience in AI/ML-driven biosensors, digital biomarkers, wearable technology, and optical and photonic devices. His career has centered on non-invasive health monitoring — translating frontier science into commercially viable, FDA-regulated products at global scale.

Mitch spent nearly two decades at Samsung, where he led wearable health technologies including non-invasive glucose sensing, cuffless blood pressure monitoring, and ECG/PPG arrhythmia detection. As Senior Director at Samsung Strategy & Innovation Center, he defined corporate strategy for digital healthcare — aligning R&D with commercialization and FDA-regulated product development — and evaluated over 500 digital health startups for VC investment and strategic partnership opportunities.

In his most recent role as Senior Principal Scientist at Samsung Research America, Mitch led initiatives in real-time biosignal monitoring, smartwatch-based chronic disease risk assessment, and contactless vital sign monitoring (rPPG). His contributions in digital biomarkers and sensor innovation continue to shape the future of wearable and telehealth solutions.

Mitch now advises health and biotech ventures, helping organizations integrate AI-driven health solutions and navigate the complexities of commercialization and regulatory strategy. A holder of 40+ patents, keynote speaker, and published researcher, he holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and a B.S. from Seoul National University.
